Esther de la Rosa

Esther de la Rosa is a journalist with over 12 years of experience in communications and radio production in the U.S., Spain and Latin America.

Esther believes in Communication as a powerful tool to effect positive social change. This fact has led her professional practice towards the promotion of women’s empowerment. Esther's work has focused mainly on two empowerment strategies: the amplification of women voices through access in the media; and building gender perspective capacity in journalism and communications. Currently, she is based in New York (U.S.), where she worked as program officer in PCI Media Impact and as the Communications manager of Fundarte, a Miami-based Arts organization.

In Spain, for five years Esther was the director and host of the radio show “Bridges of Communication”, dedicated to addressing women´s struggle for equality, bringing to light issues under reported by mainstream media. She has designed and carried-out seminars and workshops on gender and communications at the School of Journalism of the Universidad Complutense in Madrid (Spain), and held conferences in Spain, Morocco and Mexico.

As a women's rights advocate and as a journalist, she is a member of the International Network of Journalists with a Gender Perspective.

Jeanette Mauricio
Gender Consultant

Jeanette Mauricio is a Peruvian-Spanish journalist with an extensive experience in mass media and a Human Rights advocate. Jeanette had her first radio show when she was 16 years old. Since then, radio has been one of her favorite forms of media. She has worked for radio stations, online newspapers, magazines and in the communication department of Governmental Institutions, such us the Spanish Institute for Youth and the Spanish Council for Women.

Due to her work in pioneering programs on equality, Jeanette has been invited to give lectures and workshops on communication and gender equality in Spain, Morocco, Latin America and Norway. She held lectures at the University of Salamanca, University Complutense of Madrid, University of Malaga, University Carlos III, Spain; The Department of Media in Rabat, Morocco; and the University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway.

Currently, she is the producer and host of “Fábrica de Hombres” (Men Factory), a radio show broadcast on a Spanish community radio station, which analyzes the construction of masculinity in mass media. Moreover, Jeanette is the founder of “No Country for Women”, a project that aims to give visibility to gender violence in Norway. 

Jeanette is based in Trondheim, Norway.
